Stem cells drive metastasis

Researchers at Duke University have identified a distinct group of stem cells that exist within pancreatic tumours, that are responsible for metastasis, and render the tumour resistant to chemotherapy. The findings are of significance for treatment and theories on the formation and metastatic potential of cancer.
